| Hello I'm 17 (I accidently chose the year 1985 as my birth year and now it's stuck that way! Stupid me...) and I've just recently started using Photoshop CS3 to draw. Nice to meet you! ***12/20/09*** So apparently, watching Hetalia is synonymous to committing a "national crime" in S. Korea. Over 10,000 S. Koreans signed a petition to ban it from broadcast because of the way the anthropomorphic character of "S. Korea" was portrayed (i.e. he was deemed "offensive and highly racist"). I kinda straddle the fence when it comes to my opinion about this. I won't bash S. Korea for their decision. In a sense, they kinda have the right to feel a little insulted by it because of all the crap other countries put them through during WW2 (hell, I'm part Japanese and I feel like Korea DESERVES an apology from the Japanese government for all the things they've been through). But at the same time it's just a cartoon and ALL the countries in Hetalia are represented in a demeaning manner (everyone in that series is "racist and highly offensive). Every single country has something they've done wrong, be it during war or not, and Hetalia's only purpose is to poke fun at it. |
HI!!!
It's jason...
